For a lot of people the winter is welcomed with open arms because it means that it’s ski season. I know that there are a lot of you reading this who have never thought like that, because you would rather escape the winter chill and head to the beach.
I think a ski holiday is the perfect alternative to the traditional beach holiday, if you hit the slopes and explore the falls creek snow I know you’ll have a great time.
So why do I think you should be flying down the slopes and not soaking up the sun on the beach? Here’s why:
Get A New Skill
If you’ve never been before I am sure you’ll be interested to know if you like it or not. So give it a try and see what happens, you never know, you may end up absolutely loving it and going more than once a year. It doesn’t matter if you’re a complete starter or an intermediate, everything likes learning something new and seeing how far they can improve – having goals is always a good thing.
Feel The Winter
When the winter season hits we should be embracing it and having fun in the snow. I love being able to wear a big cosy jumper, cuddle up in front of a wood fire and look out at the mountains…..I almost forgot to mention that hot chocolate has never tasted as good as it does on a ski holiday. Don’t be a hermit in the winter, get outside and enjoy it.
If you think a ski holiday means you’re not going to have a party you couldn’t be more wrong, because ski resorts are famous for being able to throw one hell of a party! There are usually DJs blasting out some great tunes, the booze is flowing and people are dancing the night away. You can also take it easy by enjoying any number of activities from sledding, to snow hiking to riding snowmobiles.
Discover New Places
I completely understand why people enjoy going on a beach holiday, I also enjoy lounging on the sand, taking a dip in the crystal clear waters and sipping on a nice cocktail. A ski holiday however will take you to new places, open you up to different environments, views and landscapes. The great thing is that you’ll be discovering these new surroundings whilst trying out a new activity!
